Staatsgalerie
The Staatsgalerie is one of Germany’s major art museums. Its collection encompasses painting, sculpture, and graphic art from the Middle Ages to the present day, including many masterpieces and an internationally renowned collection of modern art. Highlights include Oskar Schlemmer’s “Figurines for the Triadic Ballet” from the early 1920s, Henri Matisse’s famous “Back Nudes,” numerous works by Picasso, and the Joseph Beuys Room, which the artist himself designed.
Visitors to the Long Night can expect an unforgettable, art-filled evening – with glimpses into the collection galleries, the Prints and Drawings Collection, and “The Gällery – Space for Photography.” The program offers short tours of the exhibitions “This is Tomorrow” and the current photography exhibition “Stand up! Feminist Avant-garde. Works from the Verbund Collection, Vienna,” a performance by the Feminist Choir, and performances by students from the Campus Contemporary Art program at the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts.
