Hafen Stuttgart

Products, goods, and merchandise from all over the world arrive and depart via the Neckar federal waterway. The Port of Stuttgart is a major transshipment hub. Various flows of goods from around the globe converge here, are unpacked, repacked, and shipped onward. Cranes and forklifts load the goods onto ships.

This “choreography of daily work” with its heavy machinery and the imposing industrial backdrop continually inspires artists of all disciplines. Filmmakers, too, have discovered the unique atmosphere of the Port of Stuttgart and have filmed episodes of the crime series Tatort and Soko Stuttgart here.

During the Long Night of Museums, the otherwise inaccessible industrial landscape reveals its artistic side and takes center stage in unusual light installations.

Expect delays. Last harbor tour departs at 12:30 a.m.
