Luftschutzstollen Heilbronner Straße

Located directly beneath Heilbronner Straße, next to the main train station, is the air-raid shelter – one of the first civilian air-raid bunkers from the Nazi era in Stuttgart. It was built in 1939 for train commuters and employees of the main station and freight depot. Today, the shelter displays artifacts from the Second World War and the Cold War. A permanent exhibition with historical exhibits and information panels explains its history and historical context. The air-raid shelter is opening its doors exclusively for the Long Night of Museums for the first time in six years.
